What is a podcast? Podcasting is a method of publishing audio broadcasts via the Internet, allowing people to subscribe to a feed of new files which are automatically downloaded to PC’s and/or portable audio players such as the Apple iPod. Our Higher Brains podcast features the dulcet tones of two rambling lunatics talking about various aspects of technology in business. We’ve combined this with sub par audio engineering for the first two episodes just to show we’ve got the L plates on. But future episodes are going to be brilliant! If you want more detailed information about podcasts, then refer to Wikipedia What you need You only need a PC or Mac (with speakers), an internet connection and some free podcasting software. If you’ve never listened to a podcast before, we suggest you download and install Apple iTunes. Apple iTunes is easy to use and integrates with the Apple iPod should you wish to listen on the move (these days it seems like everyone has an iPod anyway). How to subscribe If you have iTune, click here. This will load the Higher Brains podcast page directly in iTunes and you will have the option to subscribe. Subscribing will allow iTunes to automatically download new shows when they are published. If you use other podcasting software, the RSS feed you need to subscribe is: The podcasts It’s also possible to download and listen to the various files manually. Podcast 2 - Connecting to the Internet whilst travelling This podcast looks at some of the options available for connecting to the internet whilst travelling, whether domestically within Australia, or overseas. http://www.higherbrains.com/Podcast2-ConnectingInternetTravelling.mp3 Podcast 1 - Characteristics of Technology This podcast talks about some of the characteristics of technology that impact upon how they need to be managed in a business.
